OUR STORY
A Calling Rooted in Service, Tradition, and the Life of the Church

The Great Commission Corps began not as a personal project, but as a response to a growing need within Orthodox parishes across North America. As a husband‑and‑wife team serving the Church, one of us ordained as a deacon and both of us deeply committed to the life of our parish, we witnessed firsthand the challenges facing clergy, catechists, and parish leaders in forming disciples in a rapidly changing world.

We saw parishes overwhelmed by the surge of inquirers and converts. We saw faithful clergy stretched thin, trying to provide consistent catechesis while balancing pastoral responsibilities. We saw catechumens longing for deeper formation, not just information. And we saw parishioners unsure of how to share the Gospel naturally, confidently, and in a way that reflects the fullness of Orthodox Tradition.

These challenges revealed a simple truth:

Our parishes need more than content; they need formation systems.
A Need for Formation, Not Just Information
Orthodoxy has always formed Christians through a living, embodied way of life. Yet many parishes today lack the tools, structure, and pedagogical support needed to guide people into that life with clarity and consistency.

We recognized that the Church needed:
-
Proven discipleship methods that integrate theology with daily life
-
Professional, turnkey course materials that lighten the load on clergy
-
A consistent catechumenate pathway before and after baptism
-
Resources that keep new believers engaged, supported, and connected
-
Training that helps parishes become outward‑focused and evangelistic
-
Educational design that reflects both Orthodox Tradition and modern learning science
This is the gap we set out to fill.
The Birth of the Great Commission Corps
Drawing on years of theological study, including formation through the Antiochian House of Studies, along with experience in catechesis, curriculum design, and parish ministry, we began building a set of resources that could serve the Church with excellence, humility, and fidelity.
After much prayer, counsel, and discernment, we committed ourselves to creating a platform that would support parishes in fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission. Not by replacing parish life, but by strengthening it. Not by offering a parallel ministry, but by equipping the faithful to live more deeply within their own parish communities.

The Great Commission Corps was born as a supporting ministry, offering:
-
Courses for inquirers, catechumens, and newly baptized Christians
-
Evangelization training rooted in the incarnational witness of Orthodoxy
-
Parish‑ready materials for small groups, catechumenate cohorts, and adult education
-
Online learning tools that complement, not compete with, local parish life
-
Practical guidance for integrating faith into daily habits, relationships, and decisions
Everything we create points people back to their parish, their priest, and the sacramental life of the Church.
Our Mission: Unite. Equip. Evangelize.
Our mission is simple and deeply Orthodox:
Unite the Faithful
We help parishes cultivate a shared language of discipleship, bringing together clergy, catechists, and parishioners in a common vision for spiritual growth.
Equip the Church
We design courses that are theologically sound, pastorally sensitive, and pedagogically effective, bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern learning.
Evangelize with Integrity
We train Orthodox Christians to share the Gospel naturally, humbly, and authentically, embodying the love of Christ in every relationship.
A Ministry for a Growing Church
Today, the Great Commission Corps exists to serve the Church during a time of remarkable growth and opportunity. As more people discover Orthodoxy, parishes need tools that help them:
-
welcome inquirers
-
form catechumens
-
support the newly baptized
-
strengthen lifelong disciples
-
cultivate a culture of evangelization
We believe every parish can become a place where the Gospel is lived, shared, and multiplied, where formation is intentional, where teaching is consistent, and where every believer is equipped to grow in Christ.
